As a beginner potter who’s learning something new every day, I have dedicated myself to the craft over the past two years. I have completed four seven-week pottery courses under the guidance of an excellent instructor, Kent Harris of Blue Sage Pottery, Amarillo, Tx, grasping the fundamentals of throwing, trimming, and glazing. My growing passion for the hobby recently prompted me to invest in a pottery wheel and a well-used older kiln. I’m currently transforming a shed into a functional home studio. Now working independently, I am teaching myself the intricacies of mixing glazes and firing the kiln—each batch brings its own set of rewarding (and sometimes challenging) lessons. I am also a lover of music of all kinds, my family, traveling, grilling, and being creative.
